my last night in pittsburgh

we (steve and i) are in pittsburgh today, we arrived here yesterday afternoon. tomorrow we leave for washington d.c., there we will meet up with joe. we haven't seen him for a month, so it will be a great time! after we pick him up we are going to sticky fingers, which is a vegan pastry shop. i am so excited for sticky fingers!

earlier today we went to a rich persons cemetery. i had never seen anything like it before. there were these giant stone like buidings and inside each of them were the caskets of a family. then later in the day we got lost and went over a few bridges and in a tunnel; it was crazy! we managed to find our way back to where we are staying though.

tonight i had ethiopian food for the first time; it was very interesting. they do not use any utensils to eat, you use this spongy bread to pick up the food and eat it. it was a pretty great experience. the food was pretty good, but i didn't care too much for the spongy bread.

roadtrip!

saturday morning is the start of my roadtrip out to the east coast! i am so excited! i am mainly excited for all the awesome food and also some of the places we are going to visit, such as the cliff walk. i've got all batteries for all my cameras charged and ready to go! i am bringing my digital, a film camera, and my polaroid. tonight i am going to pack my bags and tomorrow i'm just going to run a lot of errands in the morning and rest for the remainder of the day. 

tonight steve and i celebrated our 4 year anniversary and it was a great time. he took me canoeing! i was really excited to canoe, i've never canoed before. when we actually got in the canoe and started to paddle...i got really scared, i think i was more terrified of tipping over than excited as i thought i would be. i still had a great time, though. after that we got a dessert from the health hut. then we headed back to mount pleasant and went to italian oven and had a really yummy meal. lastly we went to the theatre and watched bruno. it was a pretty fabulous day i'd say.

today is a pretty great day so far. i got a lot of important things done last night, so that feels good today to not have to worry about it all. i still have a lot of wedding pictures to work on and i want to get that done before my road-trip out to the east coast in four days. 

it is going to be mine and steve's four year anniversary on august first, but we are going to be celebrating it this thursday since we will be busy on the actual day. we are going to go canoeing, out to eat, and then we are going to go see a film. it is going to be a very eventful day and i am very excited for it! 

it's raining...it's pouring!

today i was going to do a senior session photo shoot, but we got rained out! that is no fun! we are going to be rescheduling soon, though. right now i am sitting in the big room at steve's dad's; it is my most favorite room in the whole house. i really like it cause there are windows in almost every direction of the room and it is relaxing. there is no television in here, which is neat. the room is in a corner of the house that is tucked away in the woods. also, the ceiling is really high up, of course, that is why we call it the "big room".

the wedding i am photographing at is coming up in five days; i am very nervous. i hope i do everything right and get some good photos.

steve and i did go to mt. pleasant this past friday and we were approved for an apartment! i am moving in the second week of july (but i will be back and forth between mt. pleasant and ruth quite a bit during that month). steve will be moving in with me toward the end of july because he is able to work a little longer at his job. i am so happy we found a place! the only thing i need now is to find a fall job....

oh my

i haven't updated in a very long time! i can't believe that it is pretty much the end of june; it went by so fast to me. steve and i may be moving back to mt. pleasant earlier than we though, we may be moved in as early as july 6th! i am excited about getting back to mt. pleasant because i really don't like staying at my mom's house during the summer.

the end of july will be pretty interesting for me. steve and i will be driving to d.c. to pick up joe and his girlfriend.  then we will explore a lot of the popular cities in the new england area while we are out that way!

calm

right now i am sitting in steve's bedroom at his dad's house and it is 7:07 p.m. the window is cracked open a little bit. the only light i am getting is coming from the window. it is quiet. there is a light breeze and trees are moving ever so softly; it is really beautiful.

i feel really appreciative of my life right now.

i've had a lot of great days this week. most of my days have been spent with steve; i like that very much. i rented the breakfast club the other day and i hope to watch it tomorrow night. i've seen it before, but it was just the t.v. version and i it was quite a while ago, so i really don't remember it all that much. it will be fun to see it again!

tomorrow steve and i are having a yard sale. i hope to at least make $50, but more would be awesome! i didn't realize how much stuff i really had to sell until today when steve and i were packing it in his truck to take to his mom's house in harbor beach. 

also, today i booked my first senior portrait session of the summer! yayy!

star trek

yesterday was one of the first really awesome days of the summer. a group of friends and i went to see star trek. i didn't really know anything about star trek prior to the movie so i didn't know if i would understand or like it very much, but i did enjoy it and i would go see the next one (which i think one of my friends said is in the making). after the movie we all went bowling and i did a pretty okay job, not my best, but it was a lot of fun! after that we went to a park and hung out, then we went to steve's place to make some vegan pizza!

this saturday is the clothes swap alyssa and i are putting on! i am excited for it and i hope that people are interested in my stuff i am bringing, if not i am going to sell it at the yard sale next weekend. 

today joe, steve, and i are going to go for a bike ride, yayy!
